The beginnings of this years show team, Jamie, Alice and Gracie
Podge continued to do well, at our final show last season at Newbury, she won the Supreme championship, and to top that also won the champion of champions. Really excited.
We also had some success with our pork pigs last year, and continued by winning again this year!
Our Berkshire boars
I am willing to let the boys out on loan to suitable registered herds to keep them working
Tentrees Namatjira - BJ
He seems to have gone off the boil this autumn, with no sows in pig. I will get him tested. Such a shame as he has been really productive.
Alkington Peter Lad - Gareth New young boar to refresh the herds breedline. He has been running with Saffy and Penny, hopefully he can be distracted from food to attend to the girls!
Fernlea Orlando - Elton
A new breedline to the herd. He has just produced a litter with Willow, two of these are in this years show team. Now expecting litters from Rowan, Luna later in the spring and Katie, Willow due in May.
He has been covering for BJ
Our Berkshire Sows
Boxwood Lady, Cara - I am hoping for a litter with
Victor before he retires.
Boxwood Excelsa, Rowan - she is running with Elton again for a litter later in the spring.
Tentrees Mermaid, Willow - two of her September litter with Elton are in the show team this year.
Tentrees Suzanne - Katie. Homebred, she has turned into something special. She had her 3rd litter with BJ last May.
Oldcastle Royal Sapphire -Saffy - We have a new member of the herd, a Royal Sapphire from Wales, to bring a breed line to East Anglia that has been missing. She is running with Gareth for her next litter.
Tentrees Stonebow - Luna. Reserve champion female in the Champions of Champions 2022. One of her September gilts with BJ will be in the show team. Running with Elton at present.
Tentrees Stonebow - Penny one of her gilts was Supreme Champion at Newbury Show 2023. The oldest sow in the herd, but hoping for our first litter from her with Gareth in February.
Breeding Stock for Sale
All breeding stock is vaccinated for Erysipelas and Parvo
The show team will be available for sale as breeding stock at the end of September.
Weaners
The next litters are due in February/March for collection in the spring.

if you would like to reserve any from the litters, they do get sold quite quickly, but there's more on the way.
We have never had any problem with raising boars for meat if they are not mixed in with the gilts, in fact they tend to be bigger and leaner.
